Any tips for travelling to the navy recruit training center. I have heard they have train system. I believe I will fly southwest into midway airport.

ARMY WIFE asked:

I wish I could travel. But on my husbands Army income there is no way. How do you do it? Gosh I would love to see all these exotic places that cost a fortune to get there let alone being there. I gotta admit I’m jealous. My husband is in Iraq and that is the only place he has ever gone other than fishing around home. I only wish. I’ve got small children and I’m going to school. We can’t even afford to go camping. Gee got any good advice? I would love to take my husband on a vacation once he gets home. He needs it and I do too.
I’m in college studying criminal justice. I know that it will eventually pay off. But untill that happens we are usually broke.
OK angry kitty!! did you not get the fact that i’m married to a US soldier. Not only am I not going there but I’ve already done the dancing thing years ago. It’s not worth it.

I’m studying photography, I’m 22 this year and I graduate in 3 months so I think this would be the perfect time to travel. I’ve been to places in Europe (I live in England) so I really want to experience a whole new culture and country.
At the moment I’m thinking Brazil but everyone I speak to is so negative, otherwise I’d love to go to South Africa but thats not possible as the current political and social difficulties of the country.
I also keep being told that as a young white girl I will get hassle, but I’d like to think thats not an issue (some people even think Im mixed race anyway!).
I have noone else to go with as all my friends work or have serious boyfriends and to be honest I really want to experience this by myself. Any tips from female travellers or general advice? Thanks x

He’s 13 months old, very hands-on and clingy. Any tips for how to get through the flight, or what kind of light toys I can carry or games we could play?

We’ve already had one disastrous flight and that was only 2.5 hours!

I’m interested in work that allows me to work outside, perhaps in rough terrain, in exotic locales and around the world. Climbing mountains and running through forests. What kind of job lets you do this?

I haven’t traveled much but I’d have to say the semester I spent in Cyprus was my most meaningful. It was my first time abroad and I learned about a totally foreign and exotic culture, at least to American standards. I saw first-hand the effects of modernization and urbanization on a more intimate scale. I saw in the Cypriot people the sense of friendliness and hospitality that I find so rarely in the States anymore. I also saw a disturbing generational gap between traditional people and the entirely worldly, modern youth. Its a little microcosm of the greater social changes we are experiencing on this planet and its endlessly fascinating!
